I had an easy bake oven as a child and loved it. I had to get one for my niece. She loves to help in the kitchen so this is a great thing for me to do with her that is more of her control. It boosts her self esteem that she can do it herself.

I begged for one of these when I was eight. Back then, it took forever and came out raw anyway. Only my brother would eat it. My daughter got this one for Christmas this year. She loves it. It cooks much better than the 70's version. The mixes are absurdly expensive. You can find recipies on the internet that work well and cost next to nothing. If you get the little door dirty it is near impossible to clean, so think twice about pizza... it doesn't come out that good anyway.

This is a very cute idea for the little baker in your life...but I bought it for my daughter who is 4 and it is WAY too complicated. I know it says 8+ and I should have listened.
