Try to find a "simple" AM/FM radio nowadays at a reasonable price without all the bells and whistles. I finally did with this Sony product. Just plug it in or use the batteries for a leisurely listen out on the patio. Easy to use and sounds great.

With all the fancy stereos in my house, I find myself using this radio the most. The reception and sound are great for a radio this size, and because it's light and has batteries, I can carry it from room to room, wherever I need it. Excellent quality for the price.

This is a solid, simple radio. Tuning and sound are better than expected. Reception is good. Separating the power switch from the volume wheel is a surprisingly nice feature. I use mine when I'm doing a chore outside the house or in a part of the house that doesn't have a radio or TV.
