JVC NXPN7 Portable Audio System with Dual iPod Dock

There's a saying that 2 is better than 1. When 2 can get together it's special. The new JVC NX-PN7 clock radio is very special. It accommodates two iPod players side-by side with its integrated dual-dock technology, charging them simultaneously and offering playback from each through the dock's speaker system. Supplementing iPod playback is an AM/FM tuner, and adding to the unit's versatility is a clock and timer. In addition, there's an analog audio input for connecting other devices for playback. Though the NX-PN7 handles two iPod players, it measures a mere 13 inches wide. It features sleek and sophisticated styling, with a black cabinet and speaker grille, and controls arrayed clearly and logically in a band along the bottom. Adding a bit of flair are two illuminated strips, one under each docked iPod. These can display one of nine colors - including white, blue, red and others. The included remote control features dedicated iPod control keys that simulate the iPod control wheel layout, so users are able to easily shuffle, repeat, scroll and select songs from the iPod menu. Back illuminated LCD Analog audio input lets you add other MP3 players if you don't have an iPod Remote Control (also controls iPod when docked) iPod Play Mode - Shuffle / Repeat Also works with iPhone Unit Dimensions (WxHxD) inches - 12 9/16 x 5 7/8 x 6 1/8; Weight - 5.8 lbs

I went on here to read the reviews before I went out and bought this for myself, but I just wanted to add my two cents:
This isn't a bad product but I have a couple of gripes about it, I wish you could see the time while you're playing music from your iPod or IPhone, and I don't like how you can't control the functions without the little remote. I mean, what if I loose it? Other than that it's perfect for what I wanted. It charges my and my wife's iPhones and it plays music really well. Hope this helps, I'd get it if you need two chargers and don't want to spend a lot on a device that only docks.

This unit works well with good sound for its size.
The remote is critical for operation of the system. Without it, you cannot adjust the clock and many of the features will be inaccessible.
I do not use the alarm features and do not use the timer feature available for Sleep Mode.
This unit was purchased to sit on a book case head board of a bed and allow the playing of iPod music during the night without depleting the battery each night.
Having two iPod Classics 30 Gig, I wanted something that could charge both so they would be readily available when I wanted to grab and go.
In addition, the leather cases of the iPods can remain in place with only the flap being open at the bottom to allow the connection keeping dust off the iPods.
Even though there is a big display area, the display does not show the song title/artist as many may come to expect from iPod capable devices.
The remote is very small and can easily be misplaced. An eye to allow a lanyard would have been a good way to help keep track of it.
One of the biggest drawbacks for me was the power cord.
There is a huge transformer-type box mid-way along the length of the power cord. I wanted to thread my cord through a head board access hole. Since the cord is hard wired into the radio, it was not possible to plug it into the power source and send the other end through the small hole to the radio. Instead I have to have the huge black box on my head board hogging precious room in order to fit.
The remote is handy from across the room.
It is because of the hard wired cord with big box midway and the tiny remote (with even tinier print) that this does not have five stars.

Simply said it was a good deal at a good price for a good product.

My wife and I each own an iPhone and we always wanted a dock with speakers. It just so happens we found this one with a double dock. Now we take turns playing songs for each other. There is also a video out port so you can hook it to your television. You can play your videos and movies! How cool is that? I love this thing!

I love the sound and quality of this Audio System, setting it up was a little frustrating at first because you have to do it with the remote control but once you get the hang of it, it is easy.
