These filters are ok. It does seem like I had to replace it sooner than the filters I used to get.

My family and I have been using Brita water filters for close to twenty years now and would swear by them. We started with a gallon filter unit that we filled with water and then used as needed. And we did use it for all our drinking and cooking needs. Now we have a filter build right into our refrigerator and it is even more convent to get a cold drink of water. The replacement filter we just got is great. You just twist out the old filter and twist in the new one, run the water until the air is out of the system plus a gallon or so and it ready. These filter do a great job cleaning the water and it tastes clear and cold. I highly recommend them.

A few dollars less, works as well or better than the Whirlpool brand filter for our fridge. This is the second Brita filter we've purchased from Amazon. Item was delivered in about three days. A good alternative for the Whirlpool filter.

I used the Brita filter once on a trial basis for about 6 months. Had been using Kenmore's PUR then regular filter with no complaints. The Brita left the water tasting noticeably bad during the entire 6 months. I thought it was just me, but my wife said the taste was 'off' too. Went back to the Kenmore and it was like night and day - water tasted great.
