Review by Thin Timmy from New Orleans, La.:
I bought this like another person for an extra
VCR with a tuner & it's fine. Cheaply made but
it serves the purpose. VCRS are hard to find with
a tuner for cable channels so it was worth it.
It plays fine if you keep it clean & are gentle
with it. It plays & records fine BUT when hooked
to DVD player as I like to do it doesn't work
well. The picture goes light to dark while playing.
I tried everything but it won't work that way but
if need an extra VCR for the future not bad.

i brought this vcr 1st one worked for about 2 weeks and was eating my tapes sent it back and got another one and the clock did not work sent it back again and the vcr would not tape for more then 5 minutes so i call discount jungle and they said they were sorry and gave me a full refund
Review by Michael W. Engel from Sanford, Mi USA:
Bought this at our local Walmart store. Worked for a couple weeks, and then started eating tapes. Now, it won't record or playback any tapes at all. Hardly had any use before it went bad. Don't even bother thinking about buying one, even at this price. Find a Mitsubishi HS-U449 or HS-U448, as those are very well built, a late model, and works perfect. Check the big auction site, if you need one.

Its hard to find a VCR these days and this is the best deal I could find and it works really well. My only complaint is that it is very light, so light that the cord weighs more than it does so it pulls it back sometimes but its works fantastic.
Review by Levixen from Toledo, Ohio:
I have to agree with the one reviewer who wrote in about having so many vhs and trying to convert them over to dvd's or just buying them to replace them, this is a bunch of hog wash. I don't need a combo to just play the vcr tapes.I hooked it up like your suppose to, and no problems. It's light, and easy to operate. It's a very good buy. I just recent took it out of hostage(had put it up thinking that I would not be able to buy another vcr machine,) but I see my friends at Amazon is making that a dream come true. If you just want to just sit down one evening/weekend and just look at some of your oldies but goodies on tape, this machine will do just that. It works fine with the New tv's as well. Of course you won't be able to do any recording on it after they switch to digital, but if you have cable or satellite your ok. Good bargain.
