I purchased this to keep herbs on my counter, but after reading instructions, found you could keep asparagus in it in the frig. What a saver! Fresh, crisp, and keeps them longer than any other method.

I own this item and use it often. I grew lots of fresh herbs this year and I continue to buy them too. They weren't lasting very long. I was wasting money for a few tablespoons of herbs. This herb keeper works. The herbs will keep ten days or better. I now own two. Now here's a secret go to HSN and find the same product with a pickle keeper for less. It a two-fer I don't know How long it will last.

As other reviews have stated, I too had issues with the screwing & unscrewing of the bottom section of the container. It takes some work to align the threads properly, and admittedly, I am not patient enough for that. When I use it now, I simply pour in the water from the top, rather than upset myself trying to disassemble & then reassemble the darn thing.

On another note, the cylinder is rather skinny for certain herbs. For instance, generally when you purchase parsley, it's in a rather robust bunch, and I find myself cramming all my herbs into the container. Be aware that skinnier herbs work better in this.

Do I regret buying it? Nooo, not really. I picked it up for less than $10 at a local discount store, so no big loss. Would I pay $18 + $9 in shipping? HECK NOOOO!!! Throw your herbs in a mug or cup, fill with water, and toss into the fridge. That'll work just as well, and it's free!

Easy to use and store in the fridge. Really saves you money because this keeps stuff fresh!

Love this item. It keeps the herbs alive and usable for a good length of time. For those of us that purchase from the grocery store and do not have the luxury of a herb garden...it is a life safer. highly recommend
