Precision Products TBS7000RDOS 7 Series 200 lb Tow Behind Broadcast Spreader with Rain Cover

The Precision Products TBS7000RDOS commercial tow-behind broadcast spreader allows for quick and easy spreading while towing behind most any tractor or other vehicle with its universal hitch and hitching pin. It generous-sized hopper (6,912 cubic inches or up to 200 pounds) and rugged construction are suited for jobsite conditions. A single-lever control can be easily reached while sitting on the tractor, allowing for quick and easy adjustments to spreading pattern, which can be adjusted from 10- to 12-feet wide for quick distribution, while left, center, and right adjustable spread patterns allow for meeting various working conditions.
The spreader is constructed with an extra-strong 1-1/4-inch powder-coated steel tube frame, a heavy-duty plastic hopper with a wrap-around support for additional strength, metal gears with grease fittings, and a steel mesh hopper screen for durability and reduced clogging and maintenance. Two heavy-duty 15-inch pneumatic treaded turf tires with steel wheels provide ease of movement over many different terrains and in even difficult conditions. A handy rain cover is provided for spreading in inclement weather conditions. All parts are covered with a 90-day limited warranty, and assembly should take about thirty minutes.--Jeffrey Dalto

Great spreader overall. It worked great spreading seed over a three acre cow pasture. With the 200 pound capacity I was able to do the whole thing without refilling. It held up good too with all the bouncing over the rough ground. Have not used it for much else yet. I bet it would work really great speading seed or fertilizer over a smooth yard. The only dissapointment was how it was shipped. No packing material in the box. So a Couple parts and levers were bent. But I easily bent them back without any problems. The rubber tires are a great thing to have as well. Overall I think it's a great product for a great price.
Review by Willliam H. Snide from Ballston Lake, NY USA:
The first time I used it to fertilize my lawn I pulled to hard on the lever and the fertilizer was released at 100%. I didn't relize that the lever had by-passed the stop screw point that tells you the correct mesurement. I ended up burning my lawn. Therefore I am not happy about the learning curve. I believe a stronger stopper needs to be installed that can't be easily bypassed. This is the weakest part of the product. From this point on I am going to adjust the fertilizer reading to 50% of what it calls for. I purchased this product because I have a bad back and find it difficult to push a manual spreader. Review by Emily Robertson from Blaine, WA United States:
We have just used this spreader for two days, but we are impressed with the design and the sturdiness of it. It is built to travel over our rather lumpy pastures and not jam, change its settings or break, as several previous spreaders have done. It really can carry 250 lbs of lime, etc. There is an internal screen that keeps hard lumps out of the spreading mechanism, and a cover that keeps rain from altering the flow of material.
I have two complaints. The first is that the hand control to open the feed of material and start spreading is impossible to reach while seated on our lawn tractor. We have a long hitch because it has to fit under large grass catch bins. It is awkward to get off the tractor to open the chute because of course the lime or fertilizer immediately starts to flow down and out while you race to get moving forward. We are planning to make some kind of extension on the control handle.
The other complaint is that the packaging of this item was competely inadequate for shipping. The first one arrived totally smashed and had to be returned. The second one arrived in a box that had clearly blown open and we worried that some of the hardware would be missing. Fortunately it was all there. A sturdier box and some supportive packing material is needed for this heavy and irregularly shaped item
