The thumb pad also allows you to control the slow and fast playback modes, allowing you to listen to audio playback at 25-percent slower or 50-percent faster than real time. The unit's storage capacity is divided into four folders, and each folder can store up to 100 files. Easy file management functions allow you to erase single files, multiple files, as well as transfer files between folders. An on-board voice activation feature extends recording time by recording only when the microphone senses sound while the easy-to-use index marks let you specify a particular point in a recording or playback for easy reference. I really like this little recorder. It functions very well and is small enough to place in your pocket or hide in your hat. It has a really good battery life and never seems to run out of space to record.

This product was excellent for a good 12 months and then i had a transfer problem, desktop software issues, and my cord went bad. I am a Radio Podcaster now researching for advanced equipment. I guess, it depends on what you need this recorder for, always have some "back up" if this is apart of your long term job. A good stepping stone for beginners. Get your feet wet.

When I first bought Olympus voice recorder I used it for 45 days approximately and then I kept it aside. The quality of the sound was not that great and it was producing echoes. It is not crystal clear like what you get using an MP3 player. So I will recommend a good quality mp3 player to this Voice Recorder. Olympus has to make some basic changes in it's Voice Recorder.

Product easy to use. Good capture from audio player. Good transfer to digital format. USB conection makes use of product flexible to use. Voice quality good and features are easy to learn.

I agree with most of the reviews out there, the device itself is great, but when it comes to transferring the files to the computer, it really bugs me. The only way to do it is through their proprietary software, which download the files very, very, very slowly.
